In the beginning...

Ok I've caved! I've finally got into the game with my own blog. I'm addicted to everyone else's so why not have one I can call my own?! I'm also linking all my teammates blogs so make sure to give their's a shout out as well! I've pasted my bio below to start things off...

Shawna Straub’s addiction to bath and body products has been going on since she was a little girl. When the founders of Urban Botanic approached her with their hot new company and asked for feedback, she not only gave it willingly, she joined the crusade the next day! “When McKenna talked to me about the company and showed me their website I knew it was an incredible idea, but I just couldn’t really visualize the products. I asked her to send me a sample of each one and took the personality test which told her and myself that I was a true FRUITY (no wonder I’d always been attracted to those scents). I had just purchased a beach house and had shared that dream with her and the fact that someday I really wanted to own a myriad of vacation homes and needed a venue to provide that. When I received the product she had named the Shower Gel “Surf’s Up” and the Lotion and Perfume “Beach House.” They are still my favorite scents today many parties and creations later. Creating your own signature fragrance is so personal. You invest time and imagination into something that is really yours and you’re proud of. When you wear the scent, people ask you wear they can get it, and you can tell them how to create their own, but your scent can be your secret forever if you choose. The whole process becomes addicting. I have scents for different moods, seasons, my son, my husband, the list is endless. The best part for me about being a fragrance designer are the parties! I meet so many incredible and interesting women and they all tell me “this just isn’t like any party I’ve ever been to. It’s absolutely FUN!” The possibilities with Urban Botanic are endless, but the journey has just begun! We’re still ground floor and working diligently to open all 50 states. The best part is that there are no boundaries and I’ve finally found my place to call home.

So that's a little bit about me. Today my team stands with consultants in the following states: OH, OK, HI, WA, CA, OR, CO, WV. We're rapidly expanding into others and looking for the best individuals to open the remaining 50 states for The Hive. I hope to see Texas and Minnesota online before the end of the month and more incredible Washingtonians as well. Though we're grass roots we really do have it going on and it's an awesome responsibility to lead this incredible team of women (and hopefully some day men!) to success. Actually, they really lead me! I'm so amazed by their potential it's truly humbling. Ok mushy mush, my passion is definitely here and I'm so excited to have accomplished my first goal. Becoming the first "Manager" (highest level on the charts so far) in UB! What a day that was mentally. I had worked so hard and now I am working even harder to my next goal. 140 consultants on my team which is 20 directs who have 3 who have 1. I'm so psyched to do this and show that it's possible and I'm almost 1/2 way there on the directs! 2007 will be an incredible year for the team, UB, and for me! :)
