Tip of the Day from Kristina Cottrell

TODAYS TIP OF THE DAY

Make it a goal to add 1-3 names to our warm market contact list each day for 21 days so that it becomes a habit.

Some good examples: Leaving business cards or brochures at your beautyshop consistently because people need to see an ad seven times before they notice it.

Go thru the yellow pages and just use it to remind you of business people you may know but did not think about adding to your contact list.

Make 20 calls presentation calls, emails, update database, and do accountability report to your manager.

Hive Members: What are some other ways to add to your warm contact list?

One thing I need to remember to do is bring up UB in a conversation and then remember to give someone my card! Looking back over the last several weeks, I can think of numerous missed opportunities where it just didn't occur to me to do that. I think sometimes I focus so much on the big picture that I forget about in-the-moment.

Once I remember to hand out my card, I can add that person to my "warm contact" list.

It's been a while since I've had the need to keep business cards or other promotional materials handy for marketing purposes. I think if I could get in the habit of always having these things with me, trips to Whole Foods, Barnes and Noble or my favorite children's clothing boutiques also become business calls.

I have a stash of business cards in my purse at all times as I definitely always have it with me. I put them in the front pocket so it's not conspicuous to pull one out. I also try to find a way to have someone ask ME a question which opens up the opportunity to tell them about UB.

Can you give me an example of how you get someone to ask you a question? I'm interested in learning any new strategies.

Kristie,

I'm actually going to write an article for Associated Content on this very thing and then post the link to the blog. Give me a couple days :)
